Kolleen was a piper in several Central PA pipe bands and an inspiration to all who knew her. She loved playing the pipes and loved having fun. Traditional pipers don't always mix the two, but Kolleen did it with ease. Kitchen piping was what Kolleen did best. While she valued traditional piping and was an accomplished piper, she carried her love of life into her piping, as well - "If you're not having fun, what's the point?!"
Kitchen Piping: Bagpiping with a loose-knit group of people, perhaps a one time "jam" session, perhaps with a selection of instruments that are not traditionally played with the pipes. Can also mean a solo piper who "pushes the envelope" and plays with revolutionary approach that might be frowned upon by traditionalists.
